But not because it’s tragic
Or melancholic
Or pain.
It’s beautiful because it is beautiful.
Fuck a white world
That causes Black pain
And then demands
Their anguish
be consumed
as entertainment.
Consider a moment, what Jazz would be like:
If in addition to making music
The singer did not have to fight
for their
GODDAMN
right
to
live.
