The Big Party

Today was the day of the Party. Beth, Eric, Nick and my parents had been planning it for a while, and the day had finally arrived.

We all woke up pretty late, and just kind of lazed about. I helped Nya build a house with her new Lego set. She and Arion have taken to them quite well, and have begun building all sorts of things. Nick and Beth both got them some pretty cool sets; a recycling truck for Nya and a police wagon for Arion.

Nicky’s friend Kyle came over (nice guy) and set up Risk. I was in the shower, so missed getting in on it, but Tamika played (and won!). I definitely think it’s a game we’ll be getting.

Mom and Dad and I went out for a walk down the road that leads to the hydroelectric dam. We saw a bald eagle, and lots of birds that definitely shouldn’t be around during the dead of winter. Though it snowed on Christmas and yesterday (Nick, Beth, Tamika, Eric and I ran out to build snowmen) the weather quickly turned warm again, and all the snow was completely gone. I got to talk with my parents for a while, and got their perspective on how to deal with my siblings and Eric. I really regret going away to college so young sometimes, because Beth and Nick don’t even remember some of the stuff we used to do as kids, and they kinda grew up without me around. Mom and Dad shed some light and helped me to better understand some things though.

After we got back, Tamika was still busy stomping Nick and Kyle at Risk, and so I worked on some of the genealogy for Jancewicz.com
Babchi lent me the Jancewicz Genealogy book that PJ Jancewicz wrote, so I used it to fill in some gaps.

The party was packed. I was disappointed that more family didn’t come, but was happy to see Julie, Lindsey, aunt Linda, Uncle Tom, aunt Wendy, and Justine. Jon Hnaituk also showed up, and so I got reconnect with for quite a bit. It’s good to see him doing so well. We hadn’t hung out since high school. We played a LOT of Catch Phrase, and argued about if Snow’s Informer was a sing everyone should know (it is 😉 ).

I don’t want to leave yet. Every trip to see my family always seems so short.
